1998 Low-Key Hillclimbs Week 1 Results: Mt Hamilton 03 Oct 1998 |
The 1998 Low-Key Hillclimbs opened as they have traditionally closed, with a climb of the epic Mount Hamilton Road. And what a dramatic opening: David Wyandt of Palo Alto Bikes/Specialized blitzed the climb with a time of just over 1 hour 10 minutes. On the women's side, Cornelia Fletcher of JAH LOVE/Menlo Velo took the women's category by more than 11 minutes over Phyllis Orlich of Alto Velo/MCR. In the Low-Key spirit, four mixed tandems, a recumbent, and a tricycle also completed the brutally long climb.
